PET PAWZ NEW WEEKLY BLOG - We thought it would be great if we shared what we did each week with our clients. You can learn about the other pets we look after and you can see just what Pet Pawz gets up to each day. We'll also keep you up to date with recent news, and let you know anything important that might affect you. We are also going to do a Doggy Spotlight, where each week we will pick a pet we've looked after or walked and tell you more about them. So look out for us! We post lots of photos, funny stories and your pet may be featured! We hope you enjoy reading our new blog and please feel free to "SHARE" with your family and friends. Please visit our Facebook page to read our blog.

ICE (In Case of Emergency) - If you should become ill or injured you can ensure your pets will be well cared for with this ICE card. You carry the card with you wherever you go and it contains our details on the front and your family or friends details on the reverse. If you are ever in an emergency situation the names listed on this card will be notified. These cards are FREE to all of our customers.

ANNUAL INSPECTION - We're having our annual inspection from Dudley Council on Tuesday 26th January 2016. Hopefully there won't be too many changes to the Home Boarding Conditions but we'll let you know if there are any.

LOST & FOUND CATS - We founded Lost & Found Cats after we found a very poorly cat on 7th October 2014. The cat was taken to Blackheath Veterinary Centre, Long Lane, Halesowen but was sadly put to sleep due to renal failure. We set up a website and Facebook page in the hope the owner could be found but unfortunately we had no luck. We were overwhelmed by the amount of cat owners who contacted us asking if the cat could be theirs. It was then obvious to us that we needed to help other cat owners who have lost their beloved feline companions. Our aim is to try and help reunite owners with their cats within the local area. Lost & Found Cats is a non-profit organisation offering a totally FREE service. Please spare a moment to look at our website and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

NEW MICROCHIPPING LAW 2016 - We are making changes to our Dog Boarding Service. All the dogs we look after have very responsible owners and their dogs are all microchipped. Each time a dog comes to stay with us we scan the dog to make sure the chip is still working as it should be. As the new microchipping law is coming in to force next April we will now ask that not only are all the dogs microchipped but we will also need to ensure their details are up to date and registered with a microchip database. When your pet was microchipped you may have been given a registration form to send off to a national database such as Petlog, Anibase etc. In return you will have been sent a certificate of your dogs microchip number, including identification, pet and owners details. Each time you use our Dog Boarding Service you will now need to bring these details with you so we can check them before the service commences. Thank you.

PET PHOTO COMPETITION - This competition is FREE to enter and is open to all pet owners of dogs, cats, small furries, reptiles, birds etc. Please click HERE for more details.

We have created a brand new website which we hope has greatly improved on our old site. We have designed it so it's easier to navigate and includes our opening hours and everything you need to know about the services we offer. We've also added lots more photos from all the lovely pets we have looked after.

A Certificate of Merit was presented to Pet Pawz from Birmingham Dogs Home, after we donated blankets, food, toys, treats and bedding which were kindly given to us from our clients. A BIG thank you to everyone who donated, your support was very much appreciated.

The Local Authority inspected our premises again in January 2014 and have granted us another license to continue Dog Boarding.

Signs warn dog owners of killer disease. The majority of the dogs that died in the past year were in the New Forest, but there were also others in Surrey, Cornwall, Worcestershire and County Durham. David Walker, from Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists in Hursley, near Winchester, said: "What I would say is that if you see a skin wound on your dog then don't just leave it. "Ordinarily you might say I'll leave that for 24, 48 hours - I would say don't do that, get down to your local vet." Read more...
