TERMS & CONDITIONS

DOG BOARDING

We are fully licensed with Dudley MBC which ensures that the environment that your pets stay in meets all relevent standards and legislation. We look after your dogs in our own home. They will be given tender loving care, allowed free run of the house and be treated just as if they were a member of our own family.

Exercised daily to one of the lovely parks nearby comes as part of our dog boarding service. Their stay with us will be fun, exciting and a great opportunity for them to socialise and have lots of fun while you are away. Your dog will be happy and secure and get all the exercise and love and attention they are used to. You will have the opportunity to meet us before the stay, and visit our premises so you can assure yourself of our suitability for complete peace of mind. We will ask for you to do this a few times before boarding commences to ensure that your dog's routine is adhered to as closely as possible.

What is required by the owners: All belongings left at our premises are left at the owners own risk. We accept no liability for injury sustained by you or your dog whilst on our premises. The owner will provide all the equipment including: Bedding, clean towels, enough food for the duration, toys, treats, collar, lead, medication, bowls, feeding utensils and any other equipment your dog may need during their stay. We are also happy for you to send along anything you think may be helpful in making your dog's stay with us run as smoothly as possible. Please ensure that we know what times you plan to deliver/collect your dogs. If you arrive outside of these times we may not be available. You can let us know the time you would like to collect your pet when you return. Just give us a ring beforehand so you don't have a wasted trip. If your pet is not collected on the due day and we are unable to contact you via the information you have given us, we will, after seven days seek to have your pet re-homed.

Dogs Health: We recommend that you take out your own pet insurance to cover illness or injury as vet bills will be re-claimed when you return to collect your pet from us. All dogs boarding with us must be in good health and all medical conditions discussed with us prior to us being able to board your pet. If we feel your pet is showing signs of illness, injury, pregnancy, infectious or contagious disease we may refuse to accept him/her. This is for the benefit of your own pet and that of other boarders. Pet Pawz reserves the right to make decisions regarding your dog's health provided it is at all times acting in the best interests of the dog and on the advice of a veterinary surgeon. Owners must be aware that boarding can be a stressful period for some animals. We will take every care to ensure that your pet's stay is as stress free as possible. However, very occasionally signs of illness can occur in usually healthy animals, we cannot be held responsible in the event of illness. If your pet becomes ill during his/her stay with us, we will inform you immediately and consult a vet. If your pet then requires medical attention from the vet we will transport him/her there for treatment. We do not charge for this service but any costs for treatment by the vet must be met by you, the owner. Your pet will be treated under your name and address.

If you have bonded pets staying with us and we need to separate them due to illness, we will charge for the additional accommodation. You will be required to pay any of these extra costs when you collect your pet. Sadly animals can become ill and pass away with very little warning. In the extremely unlikely event that your pet passes away whilst in our care, we will contact you immediately and follow your wishes. We will accept no liability if these unfortunate circumstances occur. Dogs must be treated for worms and fleas two weeks prior to boarding. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any pets looking unwell.

Our Insurance and Licence Requirements: As a requirement of our Dog Boarding Licence your dog will NOT be let off the lead other than in our back garden. Your dog will wear an identity tag with our details on and will wear this for the duration of their stay with us. A register will be kept of all dogs boarding with us, including; arrival and departure dates, the dogs name, breed, age and owners details and this will be kept and made available to Dudley Council if requested. Proof of full, up to date vaccinations is required and a copy must be kept on the premises for the duration of your dogs stay with us. All reasonable precautions must be taken to prevent and control the spread of infectious or contagious disease including provision of adequate isolation facilities. Therefore you will be asked to supply a name and address of an emergency contact who will collect your dog from us until you return home if such a situation arises. We are insured to look after many pets, of which no more than 4 dogs from the same family can be boarded. There may be other small animals boarding with us during the same time, e.g. guinea pigs, rabbits, birds etc and it's very important that your dog does not bother them.

Microchipping Law: We have made changes to our policies and procedures so that we will be compliant with the new law when it comes in to force in 2016. We prefer that all dogs are microchipped and they will be scanned and details checked before boarding commences.

Fees and Charges: When making a booking, a deposit will be required. Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been paid. Therefore, a 25% non returnable and non transferable deposit is required with each booking. If you decide to collect your dog before the departure date full fees will apply. The fees are payable per day (not per night) regardless of drop off and pick up times or hours involved. Therefore if you book your dog in for a Saturday-to-Saturday stay, this counts as an eight day booking, as both Saturdays are inclusive. All payments must be made in full on the day of arrival. If paying by cheque we will need to receive it one week before arrival. A receipt will be given for payment. Your pet may not be removed from our premises until the full boarding fee has been paid.

Emergency Contact: Dogs must be sociable with other dogs, adults and children. Pet Pawz reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time and with immediate effect if the dog does not respond well to children or other pets whilst in our care. Owners must give details of an emergency contact that will collect the dog(s) immediately should a situation arise. If your dog(s) is aggressive or bites any other pet or human during its board it will need to be collected by your emergency contact immediately. If we have to transfer your dog a fee of £20 will be payable by yourself upon your return. In case of an infectious disease and your dog needs to be separated from other dogs we will call the emergency contact so they can care for him/her until you return. If a dog has to be taken to, or collected by, the emergency contact, for whatever reason, no refunds will be given.

Damage: If your dog damages any item in our home we will ask you to cover the cost of said item. This includes damage caused by chewing, ripping or soiling. A receipt will be provided. If you tell us that your dog is house trained and they go on to soil or scent mark in the house, we reserve the right to pass on cleaning fees; this can include professional carpet cleaning, dry cleaning etc. An additional £5 per day deposit will be required upon arrival to cover additional cleaning and labour should your dog soil or scent mark in the house. If your dog does not soil or scent mark the deposit will be refunded on the day of departure. This does not include items that are in need of professional cleaning. If damage is done by your dog to the outside of buildings, fences or gardens, e.g. digging up grass or plants, we reserve the right to charge you for making good such damage, including labour.

Exclusions: We do not accept dogs with any aggressive tendencies or that are not house trained, or incontinent, or that are likely to chew furniture, or dogs that are boisterous or not under control. We do NOT offer a service for banned breeds including Pit Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fila Braziliero, Japanese Tosa, American Pit Bull type/cross breed dogs. We do NOT offer a service for dogs registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 or Dog Hybrids registered under the Dangerous Wild Animal Act 1976. Sorry but we do not board any female and males dogs over the age of 9 months that have not been neutered or spayed, or bitches in season. While an un-neutered dog may be completely docile and non aggressive by itself, they cannot control the effect their scent has on other dogs in our home. We reserve the right to decline or terminate a booking at any time for whatever reason.

HOME VISITS - INCLUDING DOG WALKING/SITTING, CAT SITTING AND SMALL ANIMALS

Pet Pawz reserves the right to make decisions regarding your pets health provided it is at all times acting in the best interests of the animal and on the advice of a veterinary surgeon. The client is entirely responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred whilst pets are in the care of Pet Pawz. Pets should be up to date with all vaccinations, worm and flea treatment. I ask that your pets are in general good health and you must advise me of any behavioural problems your pet may have.

Pet Pawz will care for your pet as you would and whilst we will make every effort to ensure your pet is well looked after in your absence, Pet Pawz can not be held liable for any loss, disappearance, injury or death to a pet either inside or outside of the home whilst in our care.

All dogs will remain on a lead at all times. No more than 4 dogs will be walked together by one handler on a group walk.

Pet Pawz can not be held responsible for any damage (inside or out) to the owners property for whatever reason. Clients must inform Pet Pawz if their pet has or has had any illness since making the booking. A pet with any infectious condition will not be accepted until cleared. If clients return home early, for any reason, no reductions will be made. Owners must give details of an emergency contact. If a dog has to be taken to the emergency contact, for what ever reason, no refunds will be given.

Clients agree to authorise Pet Pawz to handle any emergencies that may arise in accordance with the "Veterinarian Release Form". Pet Pawz will make every effort to contact the client. Pet Pawz requires you to have a responsible party to take care of your home in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as illness and in the event of inclement weather or a natural disaster. It is best your emergency contact is a neighbour so they can reach your home. Pet Pawz is not responsible for home/belongings in these circumstances.
